A classic Northern Italian-style espresso blend — South American and Brazilian coffees roasted to the darker side of medium. Smooth, balanced, and crema-forward. Named in honor of Laurie, one of Zolo's founders and the matriarch of the Zolo family. Almond, chocolate, and stone fruit on the cup.
Roast: Darker side of medium
Origin: South America & Brazil (washed)
Style: Northern Italian espresso blend
Tasting Notes: Almond, chocolate, stone fruit
Recommended for: Espresso (especially milk drinks), drip, pourover
Roaster: Zolo Coffee Roasters
How to Brew It
-
Espresso: The flagship use case. Start at 1:2 ratio (18g in, 36g out) in 28–32 seconds. Builds a thick, persistent crema. Especially well-suited to cappuccinos and lattes — the almond and chocolate sing in milk.
-
Drip / pourover: Brews cleanly with classic Italian-roast character. Try a 1:16 ratio. Pairs well with cream.
-
French press / cold brew: Excellent body. 1:15 hot, 1:8 concentrate for cold brew.

About Zolo Coffee Roasters
Zolo is our neighbor in Berkeley — a roaster we've worked with for years. We carry their full lineup because they roast great coffee, consistently. The bags we sell are the same beans we pull at the shop. See the full Zolo lineup →
Why we carry Zolo
We've been working with Dave and Nick at Zolo Coffee since early 2020 — neighbors who supported each other through the pandemic and have been collaborating on machines and customers ever since. They roast a few blocks from our shop, and we share the same priorities: coffee worth drinking, machines that run right, and treating people well.
